Broad-Ridge: All Broad-Ridge service suspended.
From SEPTA website. Can anyone fill me in as to what happened here?

Broad St. Subway Service Disrupted After Boy Killed on Tracks

by KYW's Ian Bush

The Broad Street subway line was shuttle-busing between the Erie Avenue and Girard Avenue stations on Wednesday afternoon after a teenager was struck and killed on the southbound tracks.

The incident happened just before noon at the Susquehanna station. Septa quickly began using shuttle buses in both directions between Girard and Erie.

Service was also suspended along the Broad-Ridge spur.

Police say a 16-year-old jumped in front of approaching subway cars and was killed.

I was surprised to see an express train stop at North Philly. Our train was moving at restricted speed and when we got to S-D our train was moving slower at 5mph. The train set that ran down this sixteen year old did not even enter the station to allow all 5 cars in. I think our express was the last train to pass S-D.

The shuttle service ran great though.

I passed Susquehanna dauphin at 11:44 AM. I am glad I made it past there, 'cause I would've been late for school

I was told that the boy was 17, and there was an arguement before the boy plunged himself into the tracks as a train approached
You can only hear an announcement 100 times before you actually decide to travel out there

I was out at 12:04. Olney station was crowded, and there were no trains for a good ten-fifteen minutes. A local finally came, around 12:40ish. We were moving pretty slowly until about 12:55 when we arrived at Erie on the express track. We were told this was the last stop of the train, and we would have to transfer to shuttle buses. Now, my friends and I were trying to get downtown, but the shuttles were PACKED. We decided to hop on the 23 (which is a great route for bypassing Rt. C and Broad Street... AND it drops you off at 12th and Market!) and eventually got downtown. All in all, not a bad day. Although, I wish there had been some more communication, but oh well.
