SEPTA Volvo 8590 at Berridge?; Freshly repainted

 My contact at SEPTA was at Berridge Shops today.

He told me he saw (number to be verified) ,8550 sitting outside with a new paint job.

I take this news as a sign they are saving a Neoplan AN-440!!!!

 8550 was retired in 1997 or 1998 (C. A. Crafter might know more since he loves those buses). Be interesting to find out what's happening though.

 I doubt they would keep an 1984 Neo when there was 5 more years of Neos. But then again we are talking about SEPTA.

 8550 sounds a like a fishy number, It's too old and most of all it does not have a wheel-chair lift.
Maybe they re-habbed a Neo from that last Frankford group and re-numbered it.
I was hoping they would save 3427, our coach from last year's charter, but I'm afraid that one is scrapped.


I'm finding more out today. from my SEPTA contacts.

As an aside note, next year. 2010, the 3 elevators will be installed at Arrott. Big detours,the 59 and 75 may have to be bused. SEPTA was told not to scrap a group of NABI's for this.

SEPTA is very short on buses in all districts.

 I think the bus that is parked in the lot is 8590. The lone Volvo!!

It's damn sure is not a Neoplan!! The top rear section looks like a Neoplan but it's extremely high!
